Anchor Bell Nº 868 is located in Culver City, operating under the Grand Lodge of California. Born of a desire to bring the best Masonic experiences from our collective travels around the U.S. and abroad to Los Angeles. Anchor Bell intends to inspire other lodges in our community by being an incubator for new, and traditional concepts in Masonry. We are dedicated to providing a return to old traditions, embracing new ones. We experiment with a small, tight group of brothers that can be nimble and test the waters of new concepts by piloting a smaller ship.
Our Goal:
At Anchor Bell we deliver an experience to both long-time members of our fraternity, as well as to newly made Masons. Our stated meetings generally contain guided meditation, a tiled educational lecture, conversation, or a presentation on topics of Masonic interest. These meetings are crisp on business and in depth on education. We meet weekly on Thursday’s for practices, education, degrees and business. Four times a year we host a traditional, formal festive board, complete with ceremonial toasts, songs and brotherly love and affection.
What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry (or Masonry, for short) is one of the world’s most historic membership organizations, a 300-year-old worldwide fraternity of like-minded people committed to bettering themselves and their communities. Masonry encompasses a series of moral teachings based on allegory and the symbolism of ancient stonemasonry. But we’re so much more than our history. We’re a way to find friendship, purpose, and connection.

At Anchor Bell, our members are more than just brothers, we foster genuine friendships. One of the greatest benefits of Masonry is the opportunity to meet good men that “would otherwise remain at a perpetual distance.” Members have an opportunity to develop strong bonds with a diverse group of people, from all ethnicities, faiths, and social strata.
